The lectures of the course will be held in a hotel at Karfas in Chios, the island where the School of Business and the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport of the University of the Aegean are situated. Chios is the island of the Northeastern Aegean of an unillastrious maritime tradition, with monuments of various time periods and crystal-clear beaches, an island with the unique product of mastic, which has made it famous worldwide as the gifted mastic island. Chios is the fifth largest of the Greek islands, situated in the Aegean Sea, 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) off the Asian coast. The island is separated from Turkey by the Chios Strait. Tourist attractions include its medieval villages and the 11th-century monastery of Nea Moni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
