The Summer School of Naxos 2024 (INNOVIS2024) Manolis Marmaras entitled: "Regional Geography: 30 Years Department of Geography, University of the Aegean", 08 July-21 July 2024 in Naxos Town, will be held in collaboration with the following organizations:

• The collaboration, participation and support of the Municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades.

• The Regional Development and Spatial Planning Laboratory, Department of Geography, University of the Aegean

• The Urban Planning and Spatial Planning Laboratory, Technical University of Crete.

• The "Laboratory of Geocultural Analyzes of the Middle East and Turkey, Department of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies, Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, University of Athens.

                The Department of Geography celebrates 30 years of academic excellence, pioneering in Education and Social Contribution The Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean celebrates 30 years of research work in education, research and innovation, as well as in its contribution to the local and wider society.

                In the heart of the Aegean, located the island of Naxos in the middle of Cyclades, with its natural beauty and fertile soil. Naxos is the largest and most fertile island of the Cyclades. Its rich geographical relief creates intense landscape changes. High mountains, fertile valleys, meadows, plateaus, springs, torrents, caves, endless sandy beaches, sand dunes that host cedar forests, all coexist harmoniously on this small piece of land.

                Naxos today is one of the most cosmopolitan islands of the Cyclades, with great tourist development. In addition to tourism, the inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, marble quarries and trade, which employs a large part of Naxiots. The island has the air of a modern tourist resort but at the same time preserves its traditional color and folk culture.

Transfer By ferryboat:

The ferry connection to Naxos is mainly from Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio.

The Piraeus - Naxos route takes approximately 5 to 7 hours depending on the ferry and the intermediate stops.

The route Rafina - Naxos takes about 7 hours.

Daily ferry routes connect Naxos with the rest of the Cyclades islands.
