 ROBERT CHILCOTT

Robert Chilcott studied film at the London College of Printing. His graduation film, To Plan is Fatal, was a runner up in the Royal Television Society student awards and at the DM Davies short film competition at the International Film Festival of Wales. He then worked as a freelance film editor on various promos, documentaries and shorts, before becoming a researcher at ICA Cinema Projects and, subsequently, a journalist and features contributor for FilmFour, Wallflower Press and Vertigo magazine.

He made a two more shorts, Girl 22, and Cameo, both again nominated for the DM Davies award, and directed promotional films for Agent Provocateur, The Rubbishmen, and The Lady Luck Club. In 2006 he edited the feature film Kyle which premiered at the Seattle Film Festival. He is currently a contributing editor for the recently re-launched Vertigo magazine and writes a regular film column for The Chap, a satirical gentlemen’s quarterly.

Robert is a partner in Tiresias Media, and last year directed a BBC documentary on the painter and writer Molly Parkin. The company is also producing a feature documentary with filmmaker Michael Grigsby on the suicides in Bridgend. Tiresias’ most recent commissions include promotional clips for Ronnie Scotts, documenting installations for Arckiv.net, and a series of Super 8 sequences to accompany the cyber-novel Imagination Thief by Rohan Quine.

He has an MA in film from the Welsh College of Art & Design and has previously taught film at the University of Worcester.

The Communal Engine (on behalf of the Museum of Olive Industry in Lesvos)
about the establishment ofa communal factory in AgiaParaskevi, Lesvos, 
in 1911, and the use of its profits by the people
for refurbishing their old schools.

ethnological documentary film. A cooper from Pripitsa (on behalf of the Historical Museum of Exohorio in Mani) about the art of
coppery in the western area of Mani, Greece. 
 
2004 :  Screen writing, direction, camera and editing of the 
social historical documentary film  In Exchange for Five Apartments and One Shop (on behalf of Benaki Museum) about the architectural
and social evolution of Athens as shown in the Greek feature
films of the 20TH  century.
