Prof. Periklis Chatzimisios, Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece

Dr. Periklis Chatzimisios (SMIEEE) serves as an Associate Professor and a Division Head for the Department of Informatics at the Alexander TEI of Thessaloniki (ATEITHE), Greece. Dr. Chatzimisios is involved in several standardization activities serving as Member of the IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) Standards Program Development Board, Member of the IEEE ComSoc Education and Training Board (2015-today), Member of the IEEE ComSoc Standards Development Board, Vice-Chair of IEEE Emerging Technical Subcommittee on Big Data (TSCBD), co-Chair for the "Big Data Networking" and "Green Networking & Data" Working Groups for the IEEE Big Data Initiative (BDI). He is the author/editor of 8 books and more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on the topics of performance evaluation and standardization activities of mobile/wireless communications, Internet of Things, Big Data and vehicular networking. His published research work has received more than 1700 citations by other researchers. Dr. Chatzimisios received his Ph.D. from Bournemouth University (UK) (2005) and his B.Sc. from Alexander TEI of Thessaloniki (Greece) (2000).

Prof. Georgios Kambourakis, University of the Aegean, Greece

Georgios was born in Samos, Greece. He received the Diploma in Applied Informatics from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and the Ph.D. in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from the dept. of Information and Communications Systems Engineering of the University of the Aegean (UoA). He also holds a Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree from the Hellenic Open University. Currently, Dr. Kambourakis is an Associate Professor at the dept. of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece. His research interests are in the fields of mobile and wireless networks security and privacy, VoIP security, Public Key Infrastructure, DNS security, and security education and he has more than 100 refereed publications in the above areas. He has guest edited special issues of several journals, including ACM/Springer Mobile Networks and Applications, Computer Standards & Interfaces, IEEE Computer magazine, Information Sciences, Computer Communications. He has been involved in several national and EU funded R&D projects in the areas of Information and Communication Systems Security. He is a reviewer for a plethora of IEEE and other international journals and has served as a technical program committee member for more than 170 international conferences in security and networking.

Prof. Athanasios Kanatas, University of Piraeus, Greece

Athanasios G. Kanatas received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 1991, the M.Sc. degree in Satellite Communication Engineering from the University of Surrey, Surrey, UK in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in Mobile Satellite Communications from NTUA, in February 1997. From 1993 to 1994 he was with National Documentation Center of National Research Institute. In 1995 he joined SPACETEC Ltd. In 1996 he joined the Mobile Radio-Communications Laboratory as a research associate. From 1999 to 2002 he was with the Institute of Communication & Computer Systems. In 2000 he became a member of the Board of Directors of OTESAT S.A. In 2002 he joined the University of Piraeus where he is a Professor in the Department of Digital Systems and the Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technologies. His current research interests include the development of new digital techniques for wireless and satellite communications systems, channel characterization, simulation, and modeling for future wireless communication systems, RF preprocessing techniques, new transmission schemes for MIMO systems, and energy efficient techniques for Wireless Sensor Networks. He has been a Senior Member of IEEE since 2002. From 1999 to 2009 he chaired the IEEE ComSoc Chapter of the Greek Section.

Dr. Angeliki Kordali, NOKIA Networks, Greece

Dr. Angeliki Kordali received the Diploma degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2008, the M.Sc. degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from NTUA and the University of Piraeus in 2011 and the Ph.D. Degree on cognitive radio networks and spectrum management from NTUA in 2015. Her research interests arise in the area of wireless communication networks, spectrum management, 5G networks, game theory, evolutionary game theory, contract theory and learning techniques. She has received scholarship for her postgraduate studies from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). Her doctoral studies were also funded by the European Union and Greek national funds through the research funding program “Heracleitus II”. Angeliki Kordali is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and is currently working in NOKIA Greece.

Prof. Petros Nicopolitidis, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece

Petros Nicopolitidis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, located in Thessaloniki, Greece. His research interests are in the area of Adaptive Protocols in Wireless Networks, Energy-efficient Networking, QoS in Wireless Networks,Wireless Data Broadcasting,Electromagnetic and Biological Nanonetworks, Optical Networks, Underwater Wireless Networks and Rof Access Networks.

Dr. Konstantinos Samdanis, NEC Europe, Germany

Konstantinos Samdanis is a Senior Researcher and backhaul standardization specialist at NEC Europe Ltd, Germany working in the field of network management for LTE and mobile backhaul. Konstantinos is active at the Broadband Forum (BBF) in where he is the editor of a Work Item named Energy Efficient Mobile Backhaul. He has served as a guest editor for the IEEE Communication Magazine FT "Service Interoperability in Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (SIEPON)" and he is also the co-chair of the IEEE.

Prof. Evangellos Pallis, Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece

Evangelos Pallis is an Associate Professor at the Informatics Engineering department of TEI of Crete, and the director of PASIPHAE laboratory. He holds a BEng in Electronic Engineering (1994) form TEI of Crete, an MSc. (1997) and a PhD degree (2002) in Telecommunications from the University of East London. His research interests are in the fields of wireless/mobile telecommunication systems including interactive broadcasting infrastructures, resource management and optimisation mechanisms that can be applied on resource brokerage systems and trading platforms, management of heterogeneous networks, as well as distributed systems and virtualisation techniques including SDN and NFV. He has more than 200 publications in international journals, conference and workshop proceedings, he is member of IEEE/ComSoc and he acts as the General Chair of the international conference on telecommunications and multimedia (TEMU) that is scientifically cosponsored by IEEE/ComSoc.

Dr. Athanasios Potsis, President of the Hellenic Industrial Space Association, Greece

Dr. Athanasios Potsis was born at Mainz, Germany, on 1974. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. He also holds a Diploma in Electrical & Computer Technology from the University of Patras- Polytechnic School. He was presented with fellowships throughout his diploma studies by the Greek Ministry of Education. He was also awarded with a scholarship from the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company – EADS for his main Ph.D research. He has also been awarded by the Technical Chamber of Greece for excellent scientific achievements. He has published over 16 papers and articles in Conference Proceedings with evaluation process and International Journals, 5 scientific reports and holds a patent at radar signal processing.

Prof. Lambros Sarakis, Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece, Greece

He received the Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1996, the M.Sc. in Communications & Signal Processing from Imperial College, University of London, in 1997, and the Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from NTUA in 2002. Currently, he is a Lecturer at the Electrical Engineering Department at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Sterea Ellada (former TEI of Chalkida). Prior to joining TEI of Sterea Ellada, he was an Associate Researcher (2008-2010) and a Research Associate (2004-2008) at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Greece, and a Research Associate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA (1998-2003). Dr. Sarakis' research interests include performance of sensor, mobile ad-hoc, vehicular and composite wireless networks, resource virtualization, mobility management in heterogeneous access networks, QoS support in packet-switched networks, traffic characterization and analysis, and hardware/software co-design for embedded systems.

Prof. Stavros Stavrou, Open University of Cyrpus, Cyrpus

Dr Stavros Stavrou holds an Electrical and Electronics diploma from HTI (CY), a BEng Degree in Computers and Communications from the University of Essex (U.K.), and a PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey (U.K). His PhD studies were sponsored through a scholarship from the University of Surrey. Between 1997 - 2009 he was a faculty member of the University of Surrey at the Centre for Communication Systems Research (CCSR), where he lead with his research team the Centre’s wireless planning and telecommunication system design activities.

Dr. Christos Verikoukis, Centre of Technology for Telecommunication of Catalunya CTTC, Catalunya, Spain

Christos Verikoukis got his PhD from the Signal Theory and Communications Department of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, in 2000, in the area of Broadband Indoor Wireless Communications. Since February 2004 he is senior research associate in the CTTC. Dr Verikoukis has participated or is currently participating in several European (ACTS, IST FP5 & FP6, Marie-Curie, eTEN and INTERREG) and National (in Spain and in Greece) funded projects. He is an IEEE Senior Member.His research interests include ARQ schemes, MAC protocols, RRM algorithms, cross-layer techniques and cooperative communications in wireless communications systems such as WLAN, WiMax and Wireless Sensor Networks.
