Dr. Maria Mina, University of the Aegean

Maria Mina is Assistant Professor of Prehistoric Archaeology of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean in the Department of Mediterranean Studies of the University of the Aegean. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the European Association of Archaeologists (2019-2025), a member of the Association for Coroplastic Studies and of the research group Archaeology and Gender in Europe. Furthermore, she has been a reviewer for the international journals Cambridge Archaeological Journal, Hesperia, The Journal of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, as well as for the organisation of The Prehistoric Society. Her research interests include the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age in the Aegean and Cyprus, Island Archaeology, prehistoric social organisation and identities, social complexity, issues of assimilation, adaptation or rejection of cultural practices, prehistoric technology as social practice, theoretical approaches in archaeology, Archaeology of Gender and Archaeology of the Body, anthropomorphic figurines, prehistoric metallurgy, dress and adornment.
