He was born in Athens in 1937.He is a survivor of the Holocaust( hidden child). He studied in the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Military Medical School ( Veterinary Branch). He obtained his Ph.D in 1973 from the Veterinary School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As career officer he served in several army veterinary positions and resigned in 1985 with the rank of colonel.Since then he has been highly involved with the Jewish organizations in Greece and abroad.He has been the key speaker and panelist at a number of national and international meetings and conferences both of Jewish and non Jewish issues. Benjamin ( Benny) Albalas received post graduate and post doctoral fellowships with the University of Surrey,United Kingdom ( Weybridge), the University of Bristol,United Kingdom ( Langford) and the Research Laboratories of the Ministry of Health of Canada( Ottawa).He was President of many National,European and World Veterinary Associations such as the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations ( FECAVA), the Hellenic Veterinary Medical Society (HVMS),the Hellenic Companion Animal Veterinary Society ( HCAVS) and Board Member of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association ( WSAVA).After his military career he opened his own veterinary practice.
Benjamin Albalas was President of the Athens Jewish Community for many years,President and Vice President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece( KIS), Vice President of the Rhodes Jewish Community, General Secretary of the Jewish Museum of Greece,Board Member and President of the European Council of Jewish Communities ( ECJC) and ex-officio Vice President of the World Jewish Congress ( WJC).
Athanasiou, Charalambos Member of the Greek Parliament, ex-Minister of Justice
He is a Judge and politician, a member of the New Democracy party since 2012. He has held the post of Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights from June 2013 until January 2015. He was first elected Member of the Parliament in 2012 and re-elected in 2015. In the ensuing government he served as Deputy Minister of the Interior (21 June 2012 - 25 June 2013) and Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights (25 June 2013-27 January 2015). He has been instrumental in initiating legislation to combat racism and antisemitism.

Theodore Chadjipadelis is professor of applied statistics and the director of the Laboratory of Applied Political Research. He received his first degree from the School of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1980 and his doctorate from the Department of Statistical and Operational Research of the same School in 1984. From 1981 to 1990 he worked at the School of Mathematics and from 1990 to 2001 at the School of Education. During 1988-89 he was Honorary Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales (Australia). In 2001 he became Professor of applied statistics at the School of Political Sciences. From 1997 to 2001 he was chairman of the School of Public Education Pedagogy and member of the Senate of the Aristotle University. In 2003 he became member of the Steering Committee of the University of Western Macedonia and in 2004 chairman of the Department of Balkan Studies. From 2006 to 2009 he was Chairman of the School of Political Sciences. From 2011 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Steering Committee of the University of Western Macedonia. From 2013 to 2016 he served a second term as Chairman of the School of Political Sciences.

Panagiotis Grigoriou is Professor at the University of the Aegean in Greece and President of the Department of Sociology (2011-2012). Since September 2014, he is Dean of the Faculty of the Social Sciences. Since 2002, he is tutor of the European Chair Jean Monnet on European Political Integration: European Chair Jean Monnet on European Political Integration/ The social and institutional transformation of Europe. The European Union in search of internal cohesion and identity on the international scene (2002-2009), European Chair Jean Monnet ad personam on European Political Integration/European Integration and European Societies (2010-) and of the Jean Monnet European Modules on “European Identity and Fundamental Rights in EU” (2013-) and “EU Economic and Social Coherence Issues” (2015-). He coordinates the e-learning programme organised by the University of the Aegean on the matter “International law of human rights and International humanitarian law”.

Born in Athens in 1950, raised in Thessaloniki. He is a Holocaust researcher and has published original works – papers in Greece and abroad. He has lectured [invited lecturer] about the Holocaust in Greece and abroad. His father Leon fought at the Albanian front (Italian Greek War) and was wounded. He survived his incarceration in Auschwitz – Birkenau (KL Number 118633). His mother Yvette Beraha was rescued by the actions of two Christian Greek ladies, Danae Kadoglou Pavlidou and Zoe Morou (Yad Vashem Righteous of Nations, 1998). Since 2013 he is a member of the Greek Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance – IHRA, member of the Academic Working Group [AWG] and member of the Committee of the Genocide of Roma.

Maria Kavala is Assistant Professor of Modern History in the School of Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki since 2012 and teaches also in the Hellenic Open University since 2010. In 2009, she received her PhD on “Thessaloniki under the Nazi Occupation (1941-1944): Society, Economy and Persecution of the Jews” from the University of Crete. She has been fellow of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation, the Aristotle University, Yad Vashem, Rothschild Foundation and Fulbright fellow at the UCSB. She is interested in the Greek and European social and economic history of the interwar period and of the years of the war, in the Nazi occupation and the Holocaust in Greece, in ideologies and practices of exclusion and discrimination in the 20th century. She is the author of several papers on the fate of the Jewish population and Jewish property laws, and antisemitism during the Nazi occupation. Thedosios Kyriakidis holds a PhD in Modern History from The University of Western Macedonia, Greece. He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and attended courses at the Westfaelische-Wilhelms Universität, Münster, participating in the European program Erasmus-Socrates. He also received a diploma in Greek Paleography and a Master’s degree in Historical Theology. He is an alumnus of the Genocide and Human Rights University Program, organized by The International Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies and the History Department of the University of Toronto. Moreover, he has conducted post-Doctoral research at the La Sapienza University of Rome. He has conducted extensive research in Greece and abroad and has been awarded scholarships from institutions in Italy, U.S and Greece. He has written monographs and articles on the history of the Pontus, the Ottoman Empire, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Vatican and the Genocide of the Pontic Greeks. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Chair for Pontic Studies at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His publications include Contribution to the Research of the Genocide of the Greek Orthodox Population and Anti-Christian Politics in the Pontus (Apostoliki Diakonia Publications, 2015) and In the Name of Faith and Civilization, Roman-Catholic Missionaries in Nineteenth-century Pontus (Antonis Stamoulis Publications, 2018), both in Greek.

Manussos Marangudakis is Professor of Comparative Sociology at the University of the Aegean. Previously he has held posts at Queen’s University in Belfast and the University of Ulster. He has been Fulbright Scholar and visiting Professor at Yale University – Center of Cultural Sociology, Hellenic Observatory (LSE) grant holder for 2013, and Director of the MA Program European Societies and European Integration (2010-2013). His work focuses on cultural sociology, civilizational analysis and historical-comparative sociology. He has published on subjects such as the Greek crisis, American fundamentalism, axial civilizations, and the social construction of nature.
Naso, Jamileh Co-founder and President of the Canadian Yazidi Association, Leader of Operation Ezra
She is a graduate from the University of Winnipeg with a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights. She is the Co-founder and President of the Canadian Yazidi Association and has been working as an activist and spokesperson since 2014 to bring attention to the on-going genocide of the Yazidi people. She works as a lead in, Operation Ezra, an initiative to privately sponsor Yazidi refugees to Winnipeg. Operation Ezra is the only organized Yazidi rescue effort of its size in North America. She has spoken on panels at the Commission on the Status of Women, at the United Nations in New York and at global conferences such as Women Deliver on the Yazidi genocide and the need for immigration and refugee policy reform in Canada.
Shik, Na'ama Dr., International School for Holocaust Studies, Yad Vashem
Dr. Naama Shik received her PhD from Tel Aviv University. Her field of expertise is Jewish women in Auschwitz-Birkenau, and her dissertation was written under the supervision of Prof. Shulamit Volkov. Dr. Shik has published articles on various topics related to the unique experience of Jewish women in the camps – daily life, pregnancies and births, mother-daughter relations and the return to life. She has also published articles about the differences between testimonies and autobiographical literature published immediately after the war and those created at a later stage. Dr. Shik has been working at the International School for Holocaust Studies since 1999, and became the Director of the e-Learning Department in 2005.

Expert of the Ministry of Environment, Energy & Climate Change (1999-2014). Participation in 115 Greek and international conferences or meetings, in most of them with oral presentations. I have given numerous lectures at universities and Greek communities in USA and in other cities of Greece with popularized scientific subjects. Guidance of 22 Diploma theses and 31 Master Theses and Dissertations. Supervisor of foreign researchers and students consultant of Erasmus program. Publication of 4 text books and one of history content. Edition of minutes of 5 National Conferences relevant to Greek marbles. Publication of 170 scientific papers and popular articles in Greek and international journals. Award from the Academy of Athens (2016).
