Philip Azariadis, is an Associate Professor with the Department of Product & Systems Design Engineering at the University of the Aegean. He holds a Mathematics degree from the Department of Mathematics (1994) and a Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics (1999) of the University of Patras. Between May, 2001 and June, 2005 he worked as an R&D coordinator at ELKEDE – Technology & Design Centre. Between July, 2005 and December, 2010 he was an external collaborator, in ELKEDE, focusing on European R&D projects. During 2011-2012 and 2014 he has served as a Tutor at the Hellenic Open University. His research activities are focused in the areas of Product Design (Computer-Aided Design, 3D Modeling for engineers), Reverse Engineering, Motion Design, Routing/Scheduling and Computer Graphics. His research work has found industrial applications in the footwear, garment and jewelry industries and has been published in leading scientific journals and conferences. He has been involved as a researcher or scientific coordinator in numerous European or National R&D projects, and served as a reviewer in 35 international journals and in several international and national founding organisations. He has been reviewer and member of the international programme committee of more than 100 international conferences, while he is member of the editorial board of 3 international journals. Currently, Dr. Azariadis, is Head of the Department of Product & Systems Design Engineering, Director of the M.Sc. Program “Integrated Product Design and Innovation” and Head of the “Integrated Industrial Design Lab” at the University of the Aegean.

 

Sofia Kyratzi, is a lecturer of Geometric Modeling and Computer Aided Design at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean. She received her PhD (2007) degree in Computer Graphics and Geometric Modeling from the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean. She also holds an MSc (2002) in Medical Informatics and a BSc (2000) in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The last twelve years she has been involved in many research projects of the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering. Her research interests include geometric and solid modeling, computer graphics, computer aided sketching, image understanding, computer mathematics, and computer vision.

 

Vassilis Papakostopoulos is a assistant professor in ergonomics at the University of Aegean, at the Department of Product and Systems Design, teaching ergonomics and cognitive science. He holds a PhD in the field of Applied Cognitive Psychology, from Panteion Univeristy in Athens (2008), a MSc in Ergonomics, from Loughborough University in England (1998) and a bachelors degree in Psychology, from the University of Crete (1996). During his PhD studies, Vassilis worked for four years as a research associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (CE.R.T.H.), and was involved in numerous EU-funded Projects (i.e. AIDE IP, AGILE IP, SENSATION IP, LATERAL SAFE IP). His research focuses on driving behaviour, covering a vast area of driving behaviour research issues (e.g. visual perception, attention, psychomotor behaviour etc.), as well as, the evaluation of driving support systems.

 

Eugene Scourboutis holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MA in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royall College of Art. Since 1999 he has worked as a consultant for the industry, as a member of multidisciplinary R&D teams or developing his own products in London and since 2006 in Athens. His services cover the entire range of the product design process from research and concept generation to engineering and setting up production. He has designed interactive products, lights, home and office furniture, architectural and solar systems, as well as office interiors. He has won several awards or distinctions in international design competitions and holds patents and registered designs in the fields of lighting, responsive architecture and solar systems. Since 2007 he has been a full time adjunct lecturer at the Department of Products and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean teaching Product Design. His research interests include product design, engineering design, lighting design, workplace design, manufacturing and deployable structures.

 

Christina Skouloudi studied at Kingston University in UK where she got her BA(hons) in Furniture and Product design. As soon as she returns to Greece she begins collaboration as a full time and a free lance designer with companies in all aspects of product design such as furniture industries (Uccello and Varangis SA), lighting (Viokef SA), glass making and most recent Terra Nation for outdoor equipment. Since 2009 she has established her own design office and studio where she produces collections designed by her. www.skouloudi.com and most recently she collaborated with 2 crafts women and formed the SKOUMOKY team www.skoumoky.com. From the beginning of her career she is involved in the design education in Greece in different levels and institutes such as Pedagogical Institute of Greece, Polytechnic of Karditsa Technological Institution, AKTO college of Art and Design in collaboration with London Middlesex University , Unyversity of Aegean , Department of product and systems design engineering and more. Christina Skouloudi has participated in many design exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Most important of them was IMM Cologne, 100% Design in London, Macedonian Museum of Modern Art and Biennale of New Artists in Rome in 1999 where she was awarded for her work.

 

Konstantinos Bailas, works since 2002 as a skilled technician personnel specialized in CAD & CAM Systems at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of Aegean located on the island of Syros, Greece. He received a diploma in Electrical Engineering offered by the Technological Educational Institute of Western Macedonia, Greece in the year 2000 and an MSc diploma in Interactive and Industrial Products and Systems offered by the University of Aegean in the year 2010. He is the author of Interactive eBook, EasyLearning CreoParametric, published in 2014. He is interested in CAD Systems and Mechanical Product Analysis.

 

Athina Nella received her PhD in Tourism Marketing after being granted a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). She holds a Bachelor in Marketing and Communication and MSc in Services Management, both from Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece. Additionally, she holds a Degree in Sociology, obtained from Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, Greece and Certificates of post graduate studies in pedagogy and vocational guidance. Commencing her professional life with Procter & Gamble as Consumer & Market Knowledge Associate Manager, she worked in the secondary education and the budget planning department of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, before becoming a Scientific Counselor at the Institute of Educational Policy. She has served as a Tutor at the Hellenic Open University and as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Patras and University of the Aegean. Dr. Nella has published her work in international scientific journals, book chapters and proceedings of blind refereed scientific conferences. She is also a reviewer in various scientific journals in the field of tourism marketing. Her research interests lie in the areas of marketing and tourism, sociology, management and economics of education.
