The Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport of the University of the Aegean, is hosting the Summer Course “Shipping, Transportation and Trade: Current Advances and Market Perspectives - STT CAMP 2019”.
The aim of STT CAMP 2019 is to provide PhD students, MSc and undergraduate students, researchers and young professionals with a thorough analysis of the shipping and transport markets, as well as of innovative practices and new business perspectives in the shipping and transport industry. The course offers advanced knowledge to better comprehend the rapid changes in the shipping and transport market structure and identify their drivers. STT CAMP 2019 offers theoretical and applied lectures and tutorials combining innovative interdisciplinary scientific methods with state-of-the-art case studies, participative business games and workshops. The course will allow participants to gain advanced insight of recent evolutions in shipping management, economics and finance, transport demand modeling, intermodal transport planning and ports, logistics, advanced technologies, international policies and related environmental and energy issues. The course offers participants an excellent opportunity to explore the key aspects of shipping business through interactions between academia and the business real world. Through these activities, the Greek paradigm and world leadership of Greek shipping are investigated among other.
The program is divided into the following thematic units:

Global shipping markets, financial decisions and world leadership,

Planning Tools and Advanced Technologies in Shipping and Transportation.
Finally, a number of Educational/Technical visits in Athens and Piraeus on the 24th and 25th July, 2019 will complete the whole program.
The program/summer course is tailored to participants from Shanghai Maritime University, based on a specific collaboration agreement with the University of the Aegean.
